This amendment was proposed in the Planning Proposal to reclassify Council owned land at 11-13 Chesham Street, St Marys (Lots 1, 2, and 3 in DP 542707).
LEPs are legal documents that guide future development through land use zones and development controls. A Planning Proposal is a request to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment to amend an LEP.
Council discussed the Planning Proposal at the Policy Review Committee meeting on 11 February 2019 and endorsed it at the Ordinary Meeting on 25 Feb 2019 to be finalised and made.
The land has now been reclassified from ‘Community’ to ‘Operational’.
This amendment enables Council to consider future uses for the land which are consistent with its existing R4 High Density Residential zoning.
Council invited the public to inspect and comment on the proposed changes when the Planning Proposal and supporting information was publicly exhibited from Monday 6 August 2018 to Tuesday 4 September 2018, and a public hearing was held on 24 October 2018.
