Cook Park Upgrade
Council is delivering a multi-million-dollar upgrade to transform Cook Park, St Marys, into a high-quality sport and recreation precinct.
The St Marys central park project is an integral part of Council's plans to transform St Marys into a vibrant and modern Town Centre for current and future generations.
The new park will be the civic green heart of St Marys, attracting residents and visitors into the Town Centre to meet, socialise, enjoy passive and active recreation, and enjoy events and performances, with a key feature of the design an entertainment area for people to enjoy local and regional talent.
It will help stimulate the local economy and create an important connection between Queen Street, Coachmans Park, Ripples, local shopping precincts, facilities, and infrastructure.
The public exhibition period for the draft St Marys Town Centre Master Plan and central park project is now closed.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their feedback. We value your contribution and interest in helping to shape our community’s future.
We will review and consider all the feedback received for the draft Master Plan and central park.

Council is delivering a multi-million-dollar upgrade to transform Cook Park, St Marys, into a high-quality sport and recreation precinct.
St Marys - you're getting a new playspace!
We are building a new mixed recreation space in St Marys for the whole community to enjoy.
The St Marys Central Park project is an integral part of Council's vision to transform St Marys into a vibrant, welcoming and sustainable Town Centre.
We want to ensure St Marys is ready to make the most of the economic and social opportunities the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport rail line will bring to the area.
The new park will be the civic green heart of St Marys, attracting residents and visitors into the Town Centre to meet, socialise, enjoy passive and active recreation, and enjoy events and performances.
It will help stimulate the local economy and create an important connection between Queen Street Ripples, local shopping precincts, facilities, and infrastructure.
The St Marys Central Park project will attract residents and visitors into the Town Centre to stimulate the local economy.
The park will connect Queen Street to local shopping precincts, facilities, and infrastructure beyond the main street of town, encouraging people to explore more of St Marys.
People will be able to enjoy community events, meet up with friends, play with their kids, enjoy some exercise, or simply sit and enjoy nature in a cool, green space.
The St Marys Central Park project will connect Coachmans Park and Kokoda Park, and create an important connection to local shopping precincts, community facilities and growing infrastructure.
The site will be within walking distance from St Marys Train Station, which will become a true east-west and north-south rail corridor when it forms the starting point of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport rail line.
The existing sites are known as Coachmans Park and Kokoda Park. While these parks have served the community, these spaces are due for an upgrade as more people move into the area.
Council will connect these sites together with Queen Street, through to South Creek, and transform it into the civic green heart of St Marys.
The St Marys Central Park project will see the connection of Coachmans Park, Kokoda Park, and a new, unnamed parcel of land between the two sites.
The inclusion of a new parcel of land means that we need to rename the park or use an existing name across the whole site.
Council would like give the park one name to unify the space and give it a strong identity that reflects our aspirations for the St Marys Town Centre as a vibrant and welcoming strategic centre.
A small section of West Lane, at the Charles Hackett Drive intersection, will be closed as part of this project. This will allow the connection of Coachmans Park, Kokoda Park and a parcel of land between the two sites to create one civic green heart for St Marys.
A new section of road will be constructed to connect West Lane and Carinya Avenue. Please refer to the St Marys Central Park Project Master Plan in the 'Related Documents' section of this page to find out more.
The St Marys Central Park project is funded through the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program in partnership with Council.
