Council is constructing a new shared path along Factory Road in Regentville, between Mulgoa Road and the Nepean River.
There is currently no footpath or cycleway on Factory Road, which is becoming increasingly busy as our population grows.
The three-metre-wide shared path will give pedestrians and cyclists a safe and accessible way to travel between Glenmore Park, Regentville and the Nepean River.
The path will run along the length of the northern side of Factory Road, from Mulgoa Road to Bundarra Road, Cross Road and the M4 Motorway where it will connect with the existing path.
This project will also include:
- connecting pathways along Loftus Street and Spencer Street.
- footpath connecting the shared path to the car park at the end of Factory Road.
- four crossings for pedestrians and cyclists.
- new kerb and guttering.
- road pavement widening.
- street lighting upgrades.
- stormwater drainage improvements.
- tree planting and landscaping.
Work will begin in April 2025.
It was identified as a high priority in Council’s 2021 Penrith Green Grid Strategy in response to community concern for safety along the popular route.
