The community can now enjoy a safer and more connected Great River Walk experience with the completion of the new pedestrian pathway on Nepean Avenue.

This pathway, stretching between Memorial Avenue and Tench Reserve, features bollards at key intervals and inground lighting to provide physical and visual cues to motorists, helping to protect pedestrians from passing traffic.

The project has also delivered new traffic calming paver bands to create a safer, calmer traffic environment that supports cyclists on the road. New trees have also been planted to enhance amenity, provide shade, and help cool the city.

The project significantly improves pedestrian safety and provides the crucial ‘missing link’ to the popular bridge-to-bridge loop of the Great River Walk, enjoyed by thousands of people each week.

This project was proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Penrith City Council.
