This project is being funded by Council through its Parks Asset Renewal Program.

With more than 150 playspaces across the LGA, we have an ongoing program to upgrade these facilities to ensure they are modern and inclusive for generations to come.

After conducting a site assessment, Council develops the design for a playspace upgrade in line with the NSW Government’s ‘Everyone Can Play’ guidelines, Council’s ‘Playspace Design Guidelines’, and feedback from local residents through community consultation.

Our ‘Playspace Design Guidelines’ outline the types of infrastructure, such as toilets, which need to be included in an upgrade depending on whether the playspace is a local, district, or Citywide facility.

The playspace will be closed while under construction to ensure public safety.

Council is upgrading 40 playspaces between 2019-2024 with new equipment, surface upgrades, seating, tree planting, shade, landscaping and pathways. There is a good chance that your playspace could be next in line for Parks Asset Renewal funding in the coming years.
