Bennett Park works to begin this year

24 March 2026

Work to build a new mixed recreation space at Bennett Park will begin this year, after Council awarded the construction contract this week.

The design concept for the project includes:

  • new and larger playspace with a variety of play equipment.
  • mini pump track with beginner and intermediate loops.
  • pathways, seating, shade, tree planting and landscaping.

This project is funded by Council, the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program, and the Australian Government's Investing in Our Communities Program.

Will Bennett Park be closed during construction?

The area of the park that includes the existing playspace and learn-to-ride loop will be closed during construction. The rest of the park will remain open.

The closest alternative playspaces are located at:

  • Australia and Brisbane Street Reserve, 29 Australia Street, St Marys

Will construction be noisy?

Council will work closely with the contractor to minimise any disruptions to surrounding residents. Residents will be notified ahead of any noisy works taking place.
