Penrith’s City Park taking shape in CBD

24 May 2023

City Park continues to take shape with footpath and kerb works, and construction of a 78-metre sunken rain garden well underway.

Footpath works along the section of Henry Street between Gaymark Lane and the pedestrian crossing are complete.

Recycled brick walls have been constructed for the garden and topsoil has been laid. Steel support beams for pedestrian bridges over the garden have also been installed.

Decking for the pedestrian bridges, a five-metre-wide circular water feature, three cascading pools with a connecting stream, and fog fountains, are also under construction off-site.

An amenities building with a green roof and pergola will be the next park feature to get underway, with work planned to begin soon.
