Penrith City Council is continuing to plan for the future of Penrith’s East–West Corridor. Kingswood and Werrington sit at the heart of this corridor and are expected to welcome more residents, workers and visitors over the next 20 years.

Council is progressing strategic planning work to help guide future growth, improve connections, support local centres and ensure infrastructure and services keep pace with change. This work will help shape a vibrant, connected and liveable corridor for current and future communities.

Further updates will be provided as the project progresses. To stay informed and receive the latest project news, we encourage you to register for updates.

Community consultation

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and ideas with us during the community consultation period, which ran from the 13 October until 13 November 2025.

We heard about what you:

  • like about these areas
  • want to see change or be improved
  • would like these areas to look like in the future

Your ideas will help us make a plan that reflects the needs of those who live, work and visit Kingswood and Werrington.

This plan will be called the East-West Corridor: Kingswood - Werrington Structure Plan and will set priorities for things like:

  • what land should be used for
  • improvements to public spaces and infrastructure
  • housing
  • jobs
  • different types of transport
