Jim Anderson Park playspace temporarily closed from Thursday 6 July

5 July 2023

The playspace in Jim Anderson Park on Brookfield Avenue, Werrington Downs, will be temporarily closed for maintenance works from Thursday 6 July 2023.

It is expected to be reopened to the public by Saturday 8 July, weather permitting.

The existing softfall surface is being removed and replaced with playspace mulch, as a temporary measure ahead of the playspace being upgraded later this year.

Council consulted with the community on the draft designs for this upgrade in late 2022. We are working on the final design and tendering for the project contract, with construction expected to begin in late 2023.

The upgrade will include new play equipment, seating, resurfacing, tree planting, landscaping, and more. It is part of Council’s commitment to revitalise 40 playspaces between 2019-2024, to ensure they are modern and inclusive for current and future residents.

We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and thank you for your patience.
