The Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW is prescribed under section 360 of the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021 and applies to all meetings of councils and committees of councils of which all the members are councillors.
Penrith City Council has incorporated the mandatory provisions into the Draft Model Code of Meeting Practice, non-mandatory provisions where Council sees fit and supplementary provisions consistent with the mandatory provisions of the Model Code.
Council is required to exhibit the draft Code of Meeting Practice for at least 28 days and at least 42 days for the members of the community to comment prior to being adopted by the Council.
How to make a submission
The community members are invited to have your say on the draft Meeting Code. The draft Meeting Code will be on public exhibition from Wednesday 25 June 2025 until Wednesday 6 August 2025.
