What is the DIAP?

Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2026-2030 outlines how we will improve access and inclusion over the next 4 years. It includes how we will advocate to others within our City to become more inclusive and accessible. We’ll be working with our partners to make improvements in these areas:

  • Attitudes and Behaviours: Fostering positive, respectful community and institutional attitudes toward disability.

  • Liveable Communities: Equitable access to transport, housing, footpaths and recreation opportunities.

  • Employment: Increasing employment opportunities for people with visible and invisible disability.
  • Systems and Processes: Improving access to information, services and support .

The experiences of people with visible and invisible disability, carers, family members, supporters and service providers are essential to this work. Your insights will inform our actions to make sure we meet the community’s needs.
