Noise assessments underway

25 February 2025

Penrith City Council is progressing the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and detailed design for the Coreen Avenue Intersection Upgrades. As part of this work, noise monitoring will be conducted at selected locations starting 25 February 2025.

Noise assessments are a critical step in the REF process, helping to evaluate potential operational noise levels. To ensure accurate data collection, monitoring will take place at various locations along Coreen Avenue and surrounding streets.

Council has obtained consent from property owners and tenants to install noise data loggers near key intersections. These loggers will remain in place for approximately one week to capture essential data.

The detailed design for the intersection upgrades is still being developed and when finalised, will be shared with the community.

This project is funded through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan – Local Roads Package, which forms part of the Australian Government’s Infrastructure Investment Program.
