Community Funding Programs

The Draft Community Funding Program consists of 5 grants:

Grant details

Aim: to fund activities that enhance the health, social capital, and safety of the community.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • provide services or be located in the Penrith LGA and deliver activities in the Penrith LGA that benefit Penrith residents.
  • be a not-for-profit organisation that is incorporated or have evidence of auspice from an incorporated organisation and have an ABN.
  • be able and willing to acquire and demonstrate evidence of all required insurance, licenses and approvals.
  • submit a complete application before the closing date, with all relevant information provided in full.
  • adhere to the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and other relevant legislation.
  • be willing to enter into an agreement with Penrith City Council and be solely responsible for the delivery of the activity and expenditure of funds.
    • Where there is a partnership, one organisation must be solely responsible for the agreement and delivery of the activity and expenditure of funds.

Rounds: 2 per year

Funding: 2024-2025 - approximately $59,000

This amount will increase over time to approximately $90,000 in 2026-2027

Aim: to fund primary prevention projects that target the underlying drivers of domestic and family violence.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • provide services or be located in the Penrith LGA and deliver initiatives in the Penrith LGA that benefit Penrith residents.
  • be a not-for-profit organisation that is incorporated or have evidence of auspice from an incorporated organisation and have an ABN.
  • be able and willing to acquire and demonstrate evidence of all required insurance, licenses and approvals.
  • submit a complete application before the closing date, with all relevant information provided in full.
  • adhere to the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and other relevant legislation.
  • be willing to enter into an agreement with Penrith City Council and be solely responsible for the delivery of the initiative and expenditure of funds.
    • Where there is a partnership, one organisation must be solely responsible for the agreement and delivery of the project and expenditure of funds.

Rounds: twice per year

Funding: From 2024-2025 $20,000 per year for 3 year pilot

Aim: to fund events that support social cohesion and community wellbeing.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • reside, work or otherwise have a significant connection with the community of Penrith LGA.
  • deliver the proposed event in the Penrith LGA, for the primary benefit of Penrith residents.
  • be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation or have evidence of auspice from an incorporated organisation and have an ABN.
  • Where an applicant is a for-profit organisation, the applicant must provide evidence that the event is not for a commercial purpose.
  • be able and willing to acquire all required insurance, licenses and approvals to deliver the event.
  • submit a complete application before the closing date, with all relevant information provided in full.
  • adhere to the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and other relevant legislation.
  • be willing to enter into an agreement with Penrith City Council and be solely responsible for the delivery of the event and expenditure of funds.

Rounds: 2 per year

Funding: From 2024-2025 $20,000

Aim: to fund activities that provide the Penrith community opportunities to participate in local arts, creative and cultural experiences.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • be an incorporated creative group, collective or not-for-profit cultural organisation which is based in Penrith LGA.
  • be an unincorporated group with an ABN, based in the Penrith LGA that has evidence of auspice from an incorporated organisation.
  • be a creative or professional artist with an ABN who resides in the Penrith LGA.
  • be able to acquire all appropriate insurances, licenses and approvals.
  • submit a complete application before the closing date, with all relevant information provided in full.
  • adhere to the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and other relevant legislation

Rounds: 1 per year commencing in 2025-2026 financial year

Funding: From 2025-2036 $23,500

Aim: to fund creative arts projects that magnify resident stories, provide opportunity for creative expression and activate locations across key neighbourhoods.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be one of the following:

  • professional artist or creative entities with an ABN;
  • an incorporated group, collective or organisation;
  • an unincorporated group or collective that has evidence of auspice from an incorporated organisation and has an ABN.
  • be able and willing to acquire and demonstrate evidence of all appropriate insurance, licenses and approvals.
  • submit a complete application before the closing date, with all relevant information provided in full.
  • adhere to the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and other relevant legislation.
  • be willing to enter into an agreement with Penrith City Council and be solely responsible for the delivery of the project and expenditure of funds.
  • acknowledge the Magnetic Places grant on promotional material or in press releases.

Rounds: 1 per year

Funding: From 2024-2025 $50,000
