Council has completed the Draft Emu Plains Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan as part of its city-wide Floodplain Risk Management Program.
The draft study is now on public exhibition to seek community feedback before finalisation and adoption.
The study area includes the suburbs of Emu Plains, Emu Heights and Leonay. It covers approximately 10.8 square kilometres and is generally bounded by the Nepean River to the east and the LGA boundary to the west.
The study has been prepared by engineering consultants Catchment Simulation Solutions, overseen by the Penrith Floodplain Risk Management Committee with support from the NSW Government.
Your feedback is vital to help us update flood information and plan for, predict and manage flood risks across the catchment.
